I think next time I will just run the stockers and do a burnout to warm up the tires. Thanks for the tip. The bullitts are definately heavy wheels.

Get those 60' times down to 2.2/2.1's and you'll be good to go

you don't really need to do a burn out if you running street tires. all you need to do is clean out the tires little bit. go around the water box put it in 2nd gear and smash on gas peddle and let the tires dust out little bit. put the gear back to 3rd and you ready to roll.

[quote=mrl390;242821]oh yeah, I had a blast Lisa. I was basically the only stock car there, besides an early 90s supercharged bonneville. The whole time I was lined up against all these trailered drag cars that were rattling my windows but the best part was at the end of the day when everyone was tweaking their cars and putting them back in the trailers, I hopped in mine and drove and hour and a half home lol. I bet I had more fun than those guys cause I didnt have to work on the car at all.[quote]

I can't wait to go again now that I did a few mods. Took her in April when she was bone stock. There was a mixed lot of pros and locals there when I went, and got 5 runs in!

The problem is the tires on my stock rims spin really easy. If I smash the pedal with the stock wheels and tires on, I will spin the tires for a good bit of first gear. I went around the water box, really I cant even get into the water box because its set up for RWD. There is a concrete wall right behind it lol. I just need to warm them up a bit thats all. A little squeal before I stage is all I really need. The pros left me a good bit of hot rubber on the starting line last time, lol so it shouldnt be too bad. Practice makes perfect tho. Its a shame that the two closest tracks are both over an hour away or I would go more often.

nice! I wish I had the time and money to run to a track... I always wondered what my monte would have made for times, then for my current ride.

you seemed to do pretty well on times.... have you ever been to the tracks before? (autocross or anything?)

You've got the same engine as I do in my 92 Z34 Lumina, DOHC 3.4. peppy but a nightmare to work on

Steel Valley Dragway?? I've raced there before! That place is the crappiest track I've ever run- still fun though. It's actually more like 1/9 mile instead of 1/8 mile, and it's slightly uphill- so you're times don't translate well when comparing to other tracks.

If you ever want to head out to Pittsburgh Raceway Park or Quaker City, PM me.
