i bought a set of half tread toyo proxes ra1's mounted on 16" mustang wheels from a guy both wheels and tires for $100. (the toyo's were used on these passes) i figured i might as well finish off the tires before i get slicks for these wheels so in answer to your question i have no issue spending money on tires, tires are the least of my expense with this car, me buying tires is pocket change lol

The rims I was looking at are like 600 bucks each. Forged aluminum 1 piece mono block or 3 piece custom sizes so garanteed fit. I was think of getting some 18x10s for front and throw some hoosiers on them but might need to get 17s because I cant find hoosiers in 18s. They are ultra lightwieght and rated for 2100lbs each. So in short best rims for drag racing in a FWD puts less strain on the weak trans.

Woah now big spender, I just figured in such a high performance vehicle you wouldn't be "finishing off" tires at over 100mph. To each their own.

"big spender"..... yea thats a good way of saying it your right lol. a half treaded tire is not worthy of making 3 passes to "finish them off"? these toyo's still have life in them but i wont use them any longer because they do nothing for traction for me. figured for the price they were worth a try and if they didnt work the wheels alone were worth the $100.

Haha, I understand that they were cheap, but you did say you were finishing them off, so I assumed that they had degraded since you bought them at half life. And get out that pocket change and get some slicks on it, I want to see some 12's!

If work cooperates and I have time to get back to the track I will be going at least 1 if not 2 more times before winter on true slicks hunting for the 12's for sure.

I already got a buy I may take, mustang bullitt wheels wrapped in Hoosiers. Like brand new slicks and its a steal of a price as well

Considering you were rolling the pavement up behind you as you went those are some respectable pulls. I have to agree though...get some slicks on it and and start bangin' on the 12s.
