i dont know if those stats are right or not. the m3 does 0-60 in 4.6 and the m1 with the same motor as the 335 does it in 4.7, and it has to be way lighter than the 335 so i doubt that the 335 does it that quick factory stock. im sure its only a tune away from that though. on the gasoline turbo thing that might be true, but i also dont believe that.

The 335i has a new 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with a single twin-scroll turbocharger, high-precision fuel injection, and an all-aluminum crankcase, pushing the car to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds. The motor produces 300 horsepower at 5800 rpm. Peak toque is 300 pound-feet, available from a mere 1,200 rpm, all the way up to 5,000 rpm.

Perhaps you are correct in part. That time may be the factory claim for their 0-60, Car and Driver achieved 0-60 in 4.8 seconds.

As for the gasoline powered turbo engine, yes it is true. BMW has had turbocharged diesels around, but it has been decades for a gasoline powered turbocharged engine to come out of BMW.

This thread reminds me of Sunday night coming home from Pittsburgh. At a redlight I was behind a late model Cummins Ram with stacks and aggressive tread tires, to his left was a first gen Eclipse or Talon, not sure if it was a turbo or not. Anyway, to make a long story short, the Eclipse/Talon took off like a bat out of hell and thought he was gonna pwn that Ram. That car could not get away from the Ram!!! Those full size diesel trucks make some pretty sick horsepower when modded, and this was most certainly one of them. He was playing with that Eclipse, because after a half mile or so, he backed off and let the car go. I was LMAO, literally.

I would too if i was you. Those Cummins diesels are know for their massive amounts of torque. i'll bet that with a quick spool up of its turbo charger and a little coal from the exhaust that cummins could have left that eclipse in a cloud of soot!
