"ricer fly by" fail

Not if he wants to keep his transmission, besides when he puts the pedal down the car goes from 3rd to 2nd automatically. Putting an automatic into 3 doesn't mean you don't get 1 or 2, it just means that you won't get overdrive in these cars, which is smart because you don't want to run overdrive hard with these stupid 4t65e trans
so overdrive is for casual driving?
and drive is for towing?
and 3rd is for putting the hammer down ?
for automatics

4th is the weakest point in the 4t65e. Overdrive is the car shifting to the highest gear as early as possible.
It's not recommended to tow with this transmission.
A good tune is what is needed for the "hammer down" with an automatic.

dude--just wiki'd the cobalt and those are some f'd up cars. One year they're supercharged, another they're turbo'd, some are RWD, most aren't, for a few quarters they made a "sport" since it didn't qualify as a super sport, yet later in the year they come out with a super sport. If anyone's looking at buying one of these, you've definitely got your work cut out for you, especially when you throw in the "no-lift-shift" feature . anyone else feel lucky that gm didn't screw with our vehicles this much?

There was NEVER a factory RWD Cobalt.
The 2004 Monte Carlo could be had either as an SS or a Supercharged SS (kinda screwy).
And then the Cobalt just has more options available then our Monte's (5 speed or 4 speed auto fro example).
If anything, Cobalts have a major advantage over our Monte's: YouTube - Ryan's ZZP LSJ Cobalt Dynos 891 WHP

There is a base cobalt (2.2), an N/A SS (2.4), and a SS (2.0 supercharged) that was changed to a 2.0 turbo after 2008. Not really that screwy. There are base montes, SS N/A montes and an SS supercharged. Then after 2006 the SS had a V8 instead of a supercharged 6. Seem pretty similar trim wise to me.

The car would be equipped with the 2.0 L, turbocharged, direct injected, VVT, LNF Ecotec engine, making 260 hp (194 kW) at 5300 rpm and 260 lb·ft (353 N·m) at 2000 rpm, and remain mated to the F35 5-speed manual transmission.[19] The engine had been introduced in a rear wheel drive application for the 2007 GM Kappa platform, which includes the Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstice, and Opel GT.

i just wonder why they'd make such a change with the drive train to have it be called the same thing the next year. sounds like an 07 cobalt SS and an 08 cobalt ss are two different cars.
