Default open track test and tune Dragway 42!

I took my 83 for her first taste of the track last Tuesday. she ran consistently low 14's at about 94.8mph. I had so much fun I may go back this coming Tuesday but with class starting soon i gotta save my $$$. We won 3 of the 4 trips down the track only to consed defeat to an 09' Shelby gt 500 stang.

I have a couple short clips on my FB but they are poor quality and ide rather post ones that looked better (not from a cell phone) when i get that chance.

My only problem was getting hooked right off the line. I have a set of firehawks in the back with a posi 12bolt. She's just got took much torque for the street tires i guess. Does anyone know of the factory rear offset for the fourth gen monte's and some mean street/strip wheel/tire combos?

Launching at 3,500 rpms>imports

here is one of the better videos, atleast you can slightly hear the car over all the noise!

Not bad at all. You have a 350 in it I'm assuming. I didn't realize those early 80's Monte's did so well.

Next thing to do is take your Monte to a dyno.

ya, shes got a modest 350 in her but that's much more then the 289 she had off the show room . The 2,600 stall converter helps abit too. Probably sometime in September I will take her and get her dyno'd. One of my buddies car clubs sponsors a "dyno day" at a speed shop near my house so its only $30 for 3 runs. Im guessing thats cheaper? I have personally never dyno'd anything lol.

I can imagine that 289 was pretty gutless, lol. That's cool though that you're working on the Monte.

$30 for 3 runs is amazing! Where is it?
