One Hell of a Race vs Shelby
I had a passenger seat show to this beauty. My buddy and me were leaving a car auction where he works at on a friday night. I dont know all of the specifics i hope to find out and add later but he drives an 86 Monte SS. Here are the basics i know of
1) He dropped in a re-built 402 v8 6.6L Big Blockengine similiar to the old Nova's
2) Borla Cat-Back exhaust (absolute gorgeous)
3) Complete job on the headers, all manifolds....obviously alot more im waitin to get the specifics
Nevertheless, we pull up next toa 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500 (ya know, the new 450+ beast). I was amazed because ive never seen one in person,weusuallydont get the high value cars in Syracuse.Im not even driving and Im shaking knowing this will probably be the best car race ill ever be in. My buddy rolls down the window to talk to the guy, and basically you cant hear a thing because the two engines next to each other are louder than the 12' subs i got in my car.
Right off the start we left more rubber on the road than i have ever seen, the mustang takes us by 2 car lenghts right off the gun. My buddy drops it into second and what i couldnt believe is that from second gear on we toasted the Cobra. I know the Monte is runnin 500+ horse but i couldnt believe how easy we took him. The race was probably just under 1/2 mile but it was the single greatest car ride i have ever been in. Im desparatly trying to get ahold of him to find out the specs on his baby. But i had to tell someone. Later guys
