3rd gear is when you really feel the pulling in our cars. Acceleration is somewhat weak on the montes. Most of the torque will come in 3rd gear. I've modded my Monte to run N/A bolt ons full exhaust from the manifolds to the tips, short ram intake, ported LIM + TB + HV3, ZZP heads, GT2 cam and a 3000 stall converter along with some other tranny mods, mounts. NOW my car feels like I'm driving in a G35. Part throttle you feel it sucking in all that air and half throttle after 2nd gear is when the car jumps out. Its wild... I raced a 2013 Ford F150 FX4 with 3 of my buddies in the truck and I suprisingly enough beat it by a foot's length. That truck is no joke though.. At second gear it was pulling harder than my MC and it was half a cars length ahead of me. Than again, I wouldnt want to F*** with a full sized truck with over 300hp. Our engines are small displacement and they need a supercharger or a turbocharger to go up against some of these newer cars these days and win. Plus the montes are big heavy cars, the size of your wheels has a great impact on acceleration as well.

however, i never knew a fun race would be so serious...

And on the accord count, my gf has a 2014 accord, and from driving my 2007 SS VS her accord, she never stood a chance, even from the line lol. Thats a true fact.
If its shifting hard only after its warmed up than there is a possibility that the PCS - Pressure control solenoid in the valve body is sticking and not regulating the pressurized trans fluid correctly. The CEL might not come on like mine but if you plug the scanner to it you'll find a P1811 max adapt long shift code stored in the computers memory. Mine went bad 3 years ago in the winter. As soon as the fluid warmed up is when it would shift really hard (neck snapping shifts too lol). Check the colour of the fluid and make sure its not brown/burnt or has a lot of varnish on the dipstick. The fluid should be changed every 50,000 on the 4T65-e's in my opinion. New filter, dex 6, and a firmer shift kit in the accumulator will resolve this issue. Just make sure you have no codes in the PCM before doing any of this, cuz than youd have to take apart the valve body, inspect it and replace the PCS. Good luck.

I'm gunna have to highly disagree with you on that statement. lol my monte pulls like a b**** in the middle/end of 1st 25~mph when you get on it. Definitely puts you back in the seat and gives you "that G force feel" and pulls a little less in 2nd 45~mph...and if you get it just right, shifting from 1st to 2nd brings you forward between the shift, then once you're in second and get on it, it puts you back in the seat. Not as severe as 1st gear, but still enough.

That's why I fricking LOVE my car lol sure it's not fast..it's quick...but definitely puts a smile on your face.

As far as 3rd?...I don't go those speeds 60+mph to really feel it, or see what it can do.

Best thing to do instead of google and guess how fast cars are I youtube! People take all their cars to tracks and run em. Stock ss/sc is about same as cobalt ss. Just youtube it tons of races on there and you can see real results. I've raced all kinds of cars with my new set up and haven't lost yet. (Haven't raced any corvettes or anything crazy) but as far as new camaros, challengers, civics, cobalts, etc.. Have been no contest.

Not a damn chance. If he got lucky keeping up with an A5 which has roughly 250hp/250tq then the odds of keeping up with cars making 50-70 horses more is fiction. The is350 is insane fast too like low 13s stock while a monte is a mid 15 car

Look up on YouTube both the a5 and the bmw3 series are mid to high 14 sec cars stock. It took a audi a5 modded to over 350 horse to hit low 13's. Not saying a 3.4 monte would win but it may have the chsnce if it got a great jump and you let off before he caught you

But I believe a 3.4 monte is like a 17+ sec car

Could be right. is350 is quick. I think 335 is comparable as well. brother has a 335i and man that thing is quick stock. I know from his car they adapt real well to performance mods. I have a gen 7 ss and although my car feels strong that 335 might have our number. I think they come 300hp twin turbo engine. How much gets put to the wheels that im not sure but being in his car you can def feel power.
