The new impalas are suprisingly pretty quick with a direct injection 3.6 liter v6 making 303 horsepower just wondering if anyone has drag raced any yet i raced my dads twice once at a light and once on the highway and i won by 3 car lenghts both times but i have a decent amount of mods on my monte.i really want to race an 06-07 monte with the 5.3 v8 i think i would give it a run for its money.

the 3.6 makes good hp but is soft on torque. your car out torques it bone stock so i assume youre making a good amount more torque now. i dont know what that imp weighs in at but im going to hope its heavier than a ls4 monte. the ls4s also out torque the 3.6 by 60/70ftlb so i wouldnt be afraid to match up against one.

The impala weighs in at 3550 almost identical to my monte your are right about it being soft on torque i think is rated at around 260 ft lbs i havent been on a dyno yet but i would think im at least around 320 ft lbs of torque around the same that an ls4 puts out once i get an intercooler and drop to a 3.25 pulley im going to zzperformance for a dynotune im lucky that i live only an hour away from their headquarters.

not stock, but nothing that makes a world of difference(ie intake manifold, cam, or trans tuning).
like i said it was definitely pullied, had an exhaust, and most probably a tune. the guy was cool about it and gave me the thumbs up.
the new impala shouldnt be a close match up. the car is 100lbs heavier, and under torqued by 60lbft. ill also assume it makes its tq/hp at a higher rpm than the ls4. on the highway at 70+ the imp may put up a good fight, but from a dig or a slow roll an ls4 would destroy that car. a bone stock L67 would probably be a decent match up, and would probably beat it if it hooks.
