Made it back to the track, guess the more I look at this I should have drove it harder. Only got 3 passes in on this day, this was my first run, but still fun with the Monte. Our W-body cars just love a road course more than a straight line I believe, it was all okay I guess.

You should bring that out to Nebraska sometime to the Sandhills racing by Arnold, NE and take it for a run. They shut down a Highway just for that event. I have always wanted to go check it out but have not been around when they do it. Plus, I would need to borrow a Hot car to run also. But I guess they run all kinds of stuff. I think there are some youtube vids of it, if you want to check it out??

Yeah you called it right, my run this time was pretty lame. I had to laugh at it myself after I watched it. Oh well any publicity is better than no publicity... My sister was telling to speed up, she was falling asleep... I have other footage from this day I will upload, but the out of car angle was not that hot to me. Need to find that perfect spot to mount the camera.

Nice video, you must have some suspension work done as i know my car would not really be at home on a road course lol.

 

Really makes me want to do suspension work to mine and do these events!

 

Looks like fun, what do they charge to let you run?

Also, do you know what the purpose of the cones are? On the older video, some looked like they were trying to guide you to the racing line, but other times it seemed like they were positioned to specifically slow you down (ie multiple cone gates on a straight).
