Well got the new MAF in today. Put it in, let the car reset, and noticed not one difference. Only difference was the engine light shut off. Accel and MPG are unchanged. Oh well at least the engine lights off.

I find that very hard to believe. Did you reset the PCM by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds and then re-connecting it? If not, your car may still be using the low octane spark table.

Or the car may need to just relearn that it's supposed to work right by having to pass its diagnostic check a certain number of starts.

For sure... Resetting the PCM via disconnecting the battery would bypass all of that and throw it right back into using the MAF scale and high octane spark table.

Some people are iffy about disconnecting batteries to reset things. So it's just another way to have it happen.

Though I agree, just resetting it will be much faster... usually the relearn is about 50 starts of normal operation!!!

Just for informational purposes...this is the spark table you're using when you're MAF is plugged in and functioning:

And this is the table that you're using when you're MAF is in the failed state (broken or unplugged):

Every degree of timing equals 3-5HP- and noting that you're down 7-8 degrees at WOT throttle while you're MAF is failed, we can conservatively say that you're down 20 HP based on timing reduction alone. You WILL feel this.

I kno this subject just wondered off but oh well at least its my thread. Well I disconnected the negative for a bit and connected it back. Now the engine light is back on and still no big difference. Although I really havent had a chance to open it up past 60 yet.
