Well my buddy from work drives a chevy slowbalt and I raced him and beat him with my monte carlo. He hit a deer with his car so he has it in the shop working on it and he is driving his mom's PT cruiser around. I never really looked at the car so I thought it was just a regular PT. He wanted to race and said it would blow the doors off my car. I thought he was just messing around so I accepted. Well when we left work I looked at the car. It is the 2.4L turbo PT cruiser. I still raced him and, well, he blew the doors off my car. We started out and I got a 1/2 car lead up to about 30. The PT must have gotten boost from there and started to pull away. After about 1/8 mile he was ahead by about 1 car length, but he stopped pulling away andwe stayed even speedsuntil the intersection. I was impressed by that little thing's power. Never underestimate the power of a turbo.

 

Thats how pretty much any turboed car is. You can kill them off the line but then they come back and kill you.

I looked up the specs of that PT. No wonder I lost.
ME: 215hp 220tq 3800lb 3 speed auto
PT: 215hp 245tq 3200lb 4 or 5 speed auto (one of the two)

 

Wow I didnt know those turbo PT's were pushing that much power
That is what you call a sleeper

 

My buddy sold his Extreme and got one of those right about the time I got my car. So we started talking **** to each other and raced, that thing was faster than I thought. We came off the line I had a good lead on him all the way to the finish but I thought I would have pulled on him harder. I pulled away from him hard at the start and then I was barly getting away from him.
