Magnaflow 16729 Catback Exhaust 00-05
I upgraded my car with headers & a new downpipe at the same time I put these on (End of December 2012) I do allot of highway / interstate driving and they are a bit louder than I would prefer. They certainly sound nice cruising in town, & have a deep tone to them. I ran them for 3 months / 3,200 miles thinking I would get used to them. I did notice some power increase, but decided to go back to my factory exhaust. My loss is your gain, I paid $805 for them & you can find em new all over the web for that. I'm asking $550 which includes shipping.

The Street Series is designed for customers seeking increased performance and better economy, combined with a powerful and well tuned exhaust note, making a real statement within legal limits with a pleasing, deep and manly tone.

I would estimate that this exhaust alone would have no effect, or maybe a slight increase in mileage, as there is slightly less restriction. I did other mods to the car at the same time, including injector size switch; I just got my wideband O2 put back in, so now I'll be tuning again and playing with performance / mileage...

Does your system come with the two tips or the four tips? Some of the pictures I saw online had the same part number for both versions. Do you have any actual pictures of your system and how far past the bumper did the tips go? Here is the four tip version even though the item # is different and the pipes don't look like they would work under the car but the description says 2004 Monte Carlo and I saw the same system other places on the internet with the #16729 by it.http://www.carid.com/2004-chevy-mont...s-1680379.html
Do you think this system would be quieter if you didn't have the headers and new downpipe?
I have a Borla cat-back on my 2004 Dale Jr and wish it was a little louder because you really can't hear it once the car warms up. I have the stock exhaust manifolds and downpipe. I'm wondering if your system would be louder than my Borla on an otherwise stock car?

Wayne,
This system has single tips on both sides & from the back of the cat it fits nicely to a stock exhaust system or if you have a catless downpipe, it fits up to that as well. When I head over to the shop tomorrow I'll take some picks of the exhaust.
Placing my stock exhausts back on, my car is still louder than stock, (because of the headers I think) but it is significantly quieter than with the magnaflow exhaust. The magnaflow is considerably louder, deeper & throatier than stock. I think they will work nice on your car, however, sound seems to be a personal preference thing; you probably won't know till you try em out ;-)

Ok, I'm an idiot... I originally ordered the Magnaflow Exhaust & forgot that my order was cancelled because it was on at least a 6 week back order & that was a couple weeks after I ordered... So I said heck with the wait time and ordered a CORSA exhaust from 3800 performance... :-S Just looked on my tips and they say CORSA not magnaflow I'll post a new thread with correct title...
