ATTN: gen 6 Magnaflow exhaust part number 16729
I've been in direct contact with magnaflows production engineer, attn: 2000-2005 owners if you want a catback stainless mandrel bent system you must call magnaflow now and inquire about part #16729!!!
they are looking for more interest in this product and are tracking the inquiries they need to see more interest before they will build it. Guaranteed to make 14hp on a dyno, testing from a grand prix with 3.8 litre.

I have this on my car and it def. Doesn't make 14 extra wheel hp, maybe 5 to7. Not a seat in the pants difference. I love the way it sounds tho. Got it on gm parts direct for like 450.
i say about 7 a could air about the same in hp do to alowing it to breath better. if a person is willing to do a port and pollish on the heads intake manifold and on the headers maybe a little more but not that drastick. but it will make it sound meaner
its not possible for you to have that on your car. magnaflow hasn't built one to date for 2000-2005 mc's you may have a magnaflow muffler on your car but not a cat-back system. as said before part #16729 has only been to engineering stage and not yet in production, i have spoken to the cheif in production at the manufacturing facility he has confirmed this by phone to me. all you can do is pre-order at this point and unless more people have pre-ordered this since myself there are less than 40 potential buyers that have notified magnaflow.
i have another thread up similar to this.
what is the difference between 6th and 7th gen exhausts. they look the exact same. i know the ls4 one has bigger pipes i think but the one your talking about it 2.5 right. 3.5 tips.
ask the guy what the difference is for me and ill tell them i want one. lol

okay i'll tell you this i have the CAD drawings from both 16729 and i believe the 2006-2007 part number is 16728 or maybe 16731. the problem is hanger position and the length of the mufflers and tail pipes. i realize these are minor differences, and i am a licenced tech but would you start screwing with a $750 exhaust system so that in the off chance that you bugger it up it can't be returned. i wouldn't. i've considered it lots of times to order the 2000-2004 system for a grand prix and just cutting the tips off and using different ones.
and online stores show that they can get it or its in stock but try ordering it they will tell you after the final steps of ordering it its not available yet. if you don't belive me go to the magnaflow official site and try to look up any year 6th gen mc and all you get for options in chevrolet is corvette and of all cars a cobalt/cavalier, or camaro.
