Well thats the thing, I know I dont HAVE TO, but I wanna make it as smooth as the rest of the car you know? I dont want that texture thats on the GE already, I just dont like the way its been the last however many times Ive done it so far... Like 4-5 times, and its always been textured, no matter how many coats of ppaint and clear I put on. And I cant just scuff up the paint (if thats what you mean) cause its starting to chip in places.

cost effective idea

but the stuff would be real hard comming off the bumpers if you ever had to take it off. you can use an eraser wheel on the body and not harm the paint and be done relativley fast.. But the bumpers will melt from heat using an eraser wheel.

so you will have sore fingers from rolling and peeling if you wanna save the paint.. just something to keep in mind

Alright I got some real pictures this time. Here is how much I got done this afternoon. Thoughts so far. SLOW! This is very time consuming if I want to do a good job, and I'm a perfectionist. I found it very hard to install dry, so I have been using a solution of baby soap and water to apply the vinyl, and then using a squeegee to get the water out. So far it's been working, but it's slow going. Also, the bumpers are going to be a nightmare. Even with the little stretching with the heat gun I had to do around the wheel wells it was quite hard to get it to form without any bubbles or fingers. However, I found out that the seems I've made are seamless. I dare you to find them in the photos. This will make it easyier to do the bumpers, since one piece is going to be impossible.

Other than that, I love the way it's looking. If this holds up it will be well worth it. The vinyl is shiny enough to my taste, and looks great on the car.

Here are some pictures.
