Default Tinting Tail Lights [RESULTS!]

I am trying to tint my tail lights on my 2003 Monte Carlo, however; I am stuck on how I should go about doing this. Should I do it myself using Nite Shades, or should I buy tinted covers, or should I take it to a professional. Now the pricing is also a point in which I need to think about. It will be about $120 for it to be done professionally. It will be about $65 for covers, but I don't know how good the quality will be. And only like $15 for me to do it myself.

UPDATE: I did them myself. They didn't turn out exactly how I wanted them to, but it they're not too bad, especially for my first time dealing with spray paint. Here's my final results:

Nightshade yourself will probably not look good, nor last long.

Covers are great because they can be off the car when you are driving during the day when cops like to pull people over.

Getting it done professionally will last a long time, and can be done lightly to still let a good amount of light through.

If i were you i would do nightshade and then 4-5 layers of clearcoat, then sand with 1500 grit sandpaper then buff it out, here's my results.

its not hard to do yourself. If you can spray paint fairly well you'll be fine. I've had mine nightshaded for two years now and they look as good as the day I did it.

Careful with nite shades, they work well, but made my tail lights crack on the edges a little.
