I have an 01 monte and would like to replace the spoiler with a pace car type. Will the new one bolt in the same holes or will I need to drill new ones?

 

I think it should bolt right up. the holes are drilled the same for the surf and the pace spoilers if I remember correct!

 

not only will you have to drill, you have to plug the old ones. i got a pace car spoiler from the scrap yard in perfect condition for $50 and im waiting to install for that reason

 

I want to say i remember reading somewhere on here that the pace car spoiler from the 06-07 montes bolts right on to a 00-05 surf board monte with no drilling. I could just be going nuts but i thought that is what i read.

 

i think you're right on that, gibbydog if you do a search you'll find a couple of threads about replacing spoilers.

 

Yes the 00-05 pace car spoilers dont bolt up as the 06-07 ones do.

the stand-up spoiler for the 00-05 years do NOT bolt up
the stand-up spoiler for the 06-07 DO bolt up
the aftermarket spoilers that say they are for 00-07 DO NOT bolt up.
