Selecting paint
Hi all, I'm looking at painting the "skirt" (basically the from the lowest body line down) on my Monte silver, it should look really good with the Deep Laser Blue of the rest of the car. The question I have is, what is he best paint for the job? All the parts that are to be painted are plastic, so I was thinking Krylon fusion with a clear topcoat. The other option is Duplicolor, which I've used before, and didnt really care for, it took a long time to dry, and left a very definite transitition line between the old and new paint.
Also any tips for prepping the parts?

are you looking to do this with a spray bomb or with a gun, blue looks good on silver, so does red, you should check out the new chrysler blue on the magnums, its midnight blue metallic, its what i have on my magnum, oh i love that color
It'll be done with a spray can, I wish I had a paint gun
Edited to add, I've painted a lot of things before, mini fridge, pc cases, airsoft rifles, and even made a few signs with handmade stencils, all with spraypaint.I've just never done a car before, and a car exterior takes a bit more abuse than the other things I've done.

i would go to a place that mixes spray bombs, something with a name brand like Dupont, Sherwin williams (martin senor in the States) or PPg, then it will be a quality paint, and make sure you put a tonne of clear on it as its the bottom of the car its gonna get hit with stones...you might even want to get a single stage paint then clear over that...it will be stronger
anther thing you can check in to if they still make it is called Rock Guard. it can be colored any color ya want and it is made for places liek this and also bottom parts of fenders etc....
i want to say it had a ruff texture to it when finished but it was strong as hell with daily driving.
in the states i would say PPG. is the best i have seen but there are others also.
see if you have akeystone auto parts in your area. they have all the stuff ya need for doing the job.
Also if you have the air compressor already then all you need to do is get a touch up gun and you dont need one of the top of the line guns.
you cna find them at harbor freight even just read up so you know what your looking at and the quality .

Good news, I do have a paint gun and I didn't even know it, so, where would I be able to get the paint and clearcoat? Can I buy it at a Napa, or would it have to be through a body shop?
