Question about back glass molding on 95 Monte Carlo LS
Hey everyone! Maybe you guys can help me out or give me advise.
I have a 95 in which the rear molding to my rear glass is about to give out. Soon it will get worse every time it rains. So far it's been holding up but for how long.....
So my local window guy has been having trouble calling local dealerships because they don't have any of the moldings in stock anymore which I'm not surprised for that year. So he told me to see if I can call several GM parts online dealers to see if they have any in stock. But here is the trouble I'm having: I assumed that the 95-99 model years were all the same. Granted maybe changes to the engine, interior, exterior. etc.
I already called Parts Taxi and GM Parts East to inquire if any of the moldings they have for the 96 and up can be placed on the 95. Apparently not? Should I order to find out? They are telling me that none of the moldings for the 96 and up models will not be compatible to the 95 due to engineering changes.

@The_Maniac, yep I have a photo. And yes it's the trim around the exterior window.
I called my auto glass guy and he said to find out from one of the companies if I can order and return if it doesn't work out. It's hard to tell for sure without looking.

OK, I was hoping it was more like an interior trim panel (something easy to score from a junk yard).
I'm a little surprised and not surprised. I would almost think an autoglass company would have something standard for the rear glass....
Sorry man, I don't have any advice....

If you have a leak I would guess you have to remove the entire window. You can do that on a hot day with a pull knife ($20) from amazon. I would rather pay someone else to do it though because it's not as easy as it looks on youtube.

try calling a local salvage yard...sometimes they can get brand new parts, like your molding...try contacting autopartswarehouse.com....they can get some off the wall things at times...hopefully they may be able to help with this molding

The prices were different for a 97 vs a 95 for some reason on www.gmpartsonline.net I accidentally put .com in my first response but it's really .net

Sorry guys for being away! Forgot my password and got caught up!
@l67ss, I thought so in terms of being the same.
I looked on the links guys gave me and one of them has the trim. I better do it fast or they will run out. I haven't been working since November so it hampered things a bit.
Found new employment so we will see. But looking at it, I may have to find out how much it will cost to do something about the rust part under the trim. No leaks thank god with all the rain but it does not look good.
Already spend $$$ on the fuel pump lol today.
