I have been looking at a body kit for my 05 Monte Carlo SS because I honestly aren't much of a fan of the front of the car, and I found the Duraflex Front Splitter which supposedly will fit on the car, according to CarID, at least it comes up when looking for Monte Carlo Body Kits. Here is the link to the specific part (Duraflex® 102224 - Front Splitter) does anyone with experience with this kind of thing know if this will work on my car and look good (not tacky and obviously something that was stuck on)? Also will it look bad since the front won't have silver trim but the rest will?

 

There are a few members on the forum that have different front end kits on their cars, turbo monte is one, and they all look very sweet.

I think with the kits it is all in the installation. If you spend the money and have it done professionally you should get what you pay for (I say this because there are a few body shops in the world that don't do good work, so do some research before just dropping your car off and see what other work they have done). From what I have read about these products, they come pretty much ready for installation but require some tweaking when fitting and placing the parts, such as possible fiber glass work as they sometimes crack during shipping, but for a good body shop that should be no problem, as well as fitment work, and painting is required. So you can paint it to match your car's color scheme which should be included in the price for installation.

My son in law has a 99 civic with a complete body kit and fiberglass hood and it looks awesome. He also paid 6 grand to have it professionally installed and the car painted so he got what he paid for, the only downfall he has is that he has to be careful when pulling in to driveways or driving over speed bumps as it will scrape.

 

Yes I have a body kit on turbo monte (thanks for the compliment ohara!) As he said you get what you pay for with installation. When you buy these kits there rough and require prep for paint and some adjustments to make it fit right which a good body shop can do but I wouldn't trust any body shop. Around me most body shops suck it's hard to find a good one.

I will agree with dragging a lot do to the body kit, I drag everywhere and I'm not even lowered it's just the body kit that sets so low.

Thanks for the replys guys, now my next question is, do I have to paint it or could I plastidip? Reason being getting a good paint job is gonna be expensive and I just don't have the cash for that right now. Will I have to plasti dip the whole car to get it to match (I'll make sure its a gloss finish of course)? Also I live in Nebraska so I go down dirt roads and roads that aren't exactly smooth, is this a bad idea with a low front end?

 

Yup, ty Tadd, I have the razzi front lip and yes there are places I cannot drive or enter because of it. Turbo Monte is also correct, they are not an easy fit at all. I had to do alot of tweaking to get mine to fit the way I wanted it to, the curves didnt match up, nor the top trim line and it wasnt even straight cut. Just paint the lip whatever color your ground fx are. Be prepared to get chips alot too, it is a chip magnet, lol.
