Default Painting valve covers

We need to replace the valve covers on jr and I was thinking about painting them to match the exterior of the car. What is the best way to do this so the paint stays? We have left over paint from when my boss painted the rear bumper. Will that stand up to the heat or do we need a heat resistant paint? Thank you for any input

i used hi temp rattle can paint when i painted my first set. then clear coat them and the paint held pretty well. first i rough up the covers with sand paper. then spray about 4-5 coats of paint. let it dry in between each layer of spray. finally clear coat them.
