I got a decal kit from houseofgrafx.com. Gently scraped off the old paint and little by little put the letters on. My striping is fine so far. Here's a link:

The pic on the site is my cover before the decals, sent the guy my after pics but he never changed it. I have an after pic on my profile. The decals look as good as the day I put them on.

 

The silver paint on the "Supercharged" was coming off really bad on my engine cover also. This appears to a common problem with the 6th gen montes.

I used a duplicolor spray of metallic silver that matched the original color of the lettering. Covered it with some layers of clear. So far holding up okay.

That beer cap is a nice touch for your car! Its the small details that sometimes make a car!

 

The paint on my engine cover is also chipping off as well. Thanks for the input on how to redo the lettering. I think I'm gonna go with the decals. And I just might steal the beer cap idea from JuniorCar , but if I do I'm gonna go with the Budweiser Select cap...

 

The decals are a hassle free idea, and it would also be good to apply a couple of hands of clear coat to stop them from peeling.
