Default Paint repair

Hey everyone, so I'm going to have a little bit of sun finally after a few weeks of really crappy weather. I'm going to give my car a good wash, and also I'm thinking of doing some good paint repair since I'm pretty sure in the cars life it has never had it done. What kind of compounds should I use? and do I need a certain pad? I have a machine buffer but just have a couple wool pads. Thanks for the help.

I would start by clay baring it first and I used (as do other members here) the Mother's 3 step process (cleaner, polish and wax) I use an electric 4inch wax applicator with a foam pad then an 8 inch electric buffer with micro fiber rags over the terry bonnets

I get pains in my hands so I went electric rather than doing it by hand like I used to
