For years I have ignored this mod and then it up and bit me in the backside. So I pulled the trigger and decided to give it a try. Aftermarket, black depot tail lights. Some good news for anyone interested, these require your original tail light harness (the one the holds the bulbs). I rewired my harness for the mod to use both large bulbs a little more on the tails. The depo taillights appear to work fine with this mod (I was concerned it may do some goofy back feeding). Ignore how dirty my monte is right now, but here are some pics.

Well, sadly this mod is throwing a code. I spent a lot of time tonight playing with it. I even popped an unmodified tail light wiring harness on the car and it's still tripping codes. Bummer. Sent an email to the eBay seller and go from there.

 

Nice! Personally I think the IPCW's look a lot better, but as long as you like them all is good
