Default molding removal

On my 95 Monte the molding that fits around the rear side window is all rusty and pitted.I think I need to replace it, or at least remove it to repair it.The question is how to get the molding off without damaging either the molding or the surrounding area.Any ideas?

wow. do they salt your roads much? that sucks..... i would say to remove the interior panel behind the window, & see if the glass needs to be removed, or if the molding comes off at all ( it should), but if it attaches anyhow its gonna be behind that interior panel....

if so replace, but if not, you may have to repair it on the car....
and be warned if it looks that bad on top its gonna be pretty horrible underneith....
