look no more of that ugly onstar antenna?
i took it off cause i can't stand looking at it on my back window. it's held by double side tape. i use a flat head screw driver and pry it out. i left the one on the inside window alone cause it's not very noticeable.

Now, how is Big Brother gona know where U R ?

LOL
I think GM & OnStar could've done a better design
on their antenna 4-Sure.

Mine's been off a couple of times now, 1st to go digital, and then it FELL off after that. I put it back with some 3M tape. I'd remove it, but I use it. I agree, it looks MUCH better with it off. I thot about going to the sharks fin antenna, but the wiring is on the wrong side, and it would get complicated.
Lookin' GOOD Ryan!

Looks like a cell phone antenna. Check out the attached pic.
I took mine off last year. I didn't want to use a metal screwdriver and cause any potential damage to the window. So I waited until a hot day last summer, then used a plastic scraper used for spreading body filler.
Once you get it started, grab underneath it with your fingers and it'll peel off pretty nice.
I too left the inside part alone. You can't really see it, and I didn't want to risk screwing up my defogger lines.
Funny thing....
I don't subscribe to OnStar. But before I took the antenna off, the light on the mirror would alternate between green and red. But mostly red. Ever since I took the antenna off, the light stays green most of the time.
Never having had OnStar, does the green light mean I'm receiving a signal, or not receiving a signal? It would make sense that red means no, and green means yes. But it doesn't make sense that I'm getting a better signal with the external antenna removed.
Edit: sorry for the bad quality of the pic. Most of my pics were purposely taken from angles that didn't show the onstar antenna. The couple that I had were taken from quite a distance away. So I had to zoom in on the picture using photoshop.
