7th Gen ('06-'07): I need a bumper cover
#2
How badly damaged is it? You could look to see if a local shop can weld it back up.
I had a relatively minor wreck on my GP GXP (somewhat similar boat - much harder to find parts due to limited run trim level) and it had a probably 12" tall Y shaped tear from the headlight down to the lower grille. The shop was able to weld it up better than new (because they also welded shut the ugly front plate screw holes that the dealer put on everything) for less than a whole bumper cover.

@06mistreSS just went on this quest. If you are looking for a SS bumper cover, I believe he found GM discontinued those. But the only difference from SS to LS is the SS has the slots pre-made for the lower chin spoiler/valance. I do see a few listings (most likely aftermarket parts, not genuine GM) for new bumper covers for the 2006-2007 on eBay (and they seem a bit pricey).

As Jason mentioned, I know all about this too well as someone backed into the front of mine while it was parked last summer.
The 2006-07 SS front bumper cover (89025788) is discontinued and ridiculously hard to find even used - they just don't exist anymore and when they do show up in salvage yards they're gone almost immediately. Your best bet is to buy an LS/LT/LTZ front bumper cover (89025784) - the OEMs are still available new and used they're more plentiful since they made about 3x more LS/LT/LTZ than SS. The only difference between the two is the LS/LT/LTZ front cover doesn't have the holes and slots pre-cut along the bottom for the lower valance extension like the SS cover does - you'd just need to have those holes and slots manually cut in by yourself or whoever is doing the work (use your original SS front cover as a reference for hole and slot placement on the new front cover). This is what I ended up doing for mine, I'm just waiting for the shop to get me in as we speak (they've been busy).
Just curious - where are you located?
