Default How do I remove front emblem from bumper

Hi guys,

I have a 2004 Monte Carlo LS that I am replacing the front bumper cover on. I have the old bumper cover off and am ready to put the new one on. The new bumper cover did not come with a front emblem. I am trying to get the old one off but have had no luck. Is it glued on? All I see are two posts that hold it onto the bumper cover. I tried a search but couldn't find the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bob

Heat the area with a hair dryer/heat gun then use a piece of waxed dental floss or fishing line in a sawing motion to cut through the adhesive tape. After sawing all the way around the emblem carefully pull up on the edges of it with your fingertips. Clean the area of the new bumper with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, then apply the emblem with new adhesive tape.

There's also 2 prongs that hold it on - you may need to wrap a small screwdriver in something like a rag to help you pop it off - although if you're changing the cover out and aren't worried about some scratches on the old one - don't worry about wrapping the screw driver.
