Default HIDs vs CCFLs

I'm thinking about changing my stock headlights for either HIDs or CCFLs (photo below). Has anybody put either of these on their Monte? What's your experience with them? The CCFLs would give a different look to the car, but I'm not sure how reliable they are. I saw one review on PFYC that said they got water in them and the halos only lasted a year before they went out.

They look great, but you read correctly. They aren't very good headlights. They fog, the CCFL ring goes out, the beam adjuster breaks easily, and the headlight bulb is replaced with an H3 size that is actually meant for a fog light. So your light output is also diminished.

That's too bad about the CCFLs, because they do look nice. I guess that leaves me with going to HIDs, or just changing the bulbs to something like Luminics or PIAA.
Thanks for the input.

Sylvania Silverstar Ultras or Osram Nightbreakers.

A friend of mine tried using Silverstars on his '06 Hyundai Sonata and he said they burned out quickly. I'm not familiar with the other brand you mentioned.

Don't get finger prints on the silver stars and they wont burn out as quickly also, they have a warranty so if they do burn out keep your receipt and get replacements.

You won't be disappointed. The Osram brand is actually the owner of Sylvania and their bulbs are primarily only sold in Europe. They're great bulbs though. Almost identical to Silverstar Ultras.
