Headlight Issue, Any Ideas?
Hey all,
I'm having an issue with my anzo headlights, and I don't have any warrranty information. I'm pretty sure that because my car has been sitting outside all summer (now its under covered) in combination with this heatwave, my headlights have a film that is peeling. I've done a little research and haven't had much luck. I know that there's a 3m kit for headlight restoration, but I don't know how much use it would be in this situation. It's almost like it's the UV layer of clear coming off the plastic.
So...if anyone has ever had this problem, did you find a good fix??? I feel like I have 3 options.
1) If I use a headlight restore kit, it has to have the sealant (2 step process), but I also don't want to have to do that every month or two.
2) Possibly spray some UV clear and see how that works? (about $30-$40)
3) Buy the lens covers for about $50-$60 and change those every year or so.
I've attached some pics from the other day. And when it rained yesterday it actually started peeling even more and looks a lot worse.
Thanks for any help you guys can give!

Yeah, I was thinking the sealant obviously isn't as good as the OEM ones. I still have my stockers, but I'm not comfortable baking the headlight housing to take the clear plastic part from those ones. I'd like to keep them just in case. I'm just wondering if there's a good way to get around this. I'm not trying to take the easy way either, if I have to restore them every month or so, it's just not worth doing in the long run.

In the second picture it almost looks like a clear protective film sheet on the lenses. The lenses looks fine in the areas where it has peeled. I'd try peeling all of the film off then put a coat of sealant or wax on the lenses.

I like the ones on decalfx.com, maybe the smoked ones would look cool. But whatever would help protect these is what I want.
Has anybody used the pre cut headlight covers? How durable are they?
