Blue bulb are just that, blue bulbs, not HID's, HID's require ballasts, additional wiring,(usually plug and play) and are available in good quality at several hundred bucks a set or cheap Chinese sets of questionable quality, and the bluer (toward purple) color you get the less light you get, higher kelvin numbers translates to less light but can look much cooler
Like Rick and East said Silverstar ultra and standard are great halogen bulbs and are a direct replacement for OEM and give off a mich brighter , whiter light

I was actually looking into buying HIDs but I did my research and went with the Silverstar Ultras, they're great. Those HID "look" lights are usually crappy. If you're set on getting HIDs your best bet would be to get a P&P HID kit. But unless you get the good quality ones, you're probably going to run into some problems.
I highly recommend the Silverstars though, they're great.

I have the Silverstar Ultras in my car and I love them. My fiance has had hid's in his car and I prefer my silverstars over his hid's.

I also have the Silverstar Ultras in both high and low beams, and they are great. However, I do NOT recommend the Silverstar 880's for the fog lights. I just installed my factory bulbs back in place, after going through 2 complete sets of the Silverstars, getting 10 months TOPS from them. Sylvania replaced the 1st set, and I replaced the 2nd with the factory bulbs.

Really? I just put the Silverstars in my car in December. I have them in just my lows and fogs right now. I should be putting them in my highs in the near future. I guess I'll see how long they last for me and go from there. Thanks for the heads up bout how long they last though.

I've only burned out one 880 silverstar so far, I'm sure the other can't be far behind. bet it's because those fogs probably have a lot of vibration with just the flexible plastic mountings
