The only difference I see is the color. The oil neck filler on the second picture is aftermarket if that's what you're talking about.

the only different in the 2 up there is the shape around the oil cap. other then that they are all jsut diff colors. i spent hours repainting mine & making it hella smooth

I know that, but they are both Jr 04 monte carlos and are a limited edition, so why the difference???????

Yeah Chris, this is what Juniorcar was talking about... My oil insert is more "popcorn" shaped and has the long oil tube sticking out... where as his oil insert is more boxed/square, with NO oil tube protruding outward... I just can't figure out why two of the exact same cars... in a limited production series... would have TWO different covers??

ohh i gotcha chris. hmm idk all i know is that mine is like brents (juniorcar). maybe he bought a diff one to paint. wheres lou with his junior edition when we need him lol

I assumed production numbers as well... but unless we can get a few more Dale Jr. engine pics, we'll never know... and it's imparative that they KNOW what produciton number they are... I know Taz is 544, which is a VERY early number... mine is WAY down the line... we'll just have to wait and see who posts...

well mine must be really rare, i have an engine cover and no one else does, musta been the last one made and they just decided to do it for the last one =p
