Caliper painting tips
The support bars I'm talking about are under the hood of the car. Like when you pop open the hood the 2 bars on either side that go from the front of the car back to where the struts are at (hopefully that makes sense). That was just another painting idea I had to help make the engine bay pop a little more. And i haven't decided on if I want to brush them or spray them yet.
Also, I brushed my 03's calipers with the red caliper paint and it didn't leave brush marks. The paint tends to level out as it cures so there's not real obvious brush marks.
I got the brush Dupli-color kit and I must say it was ok until I began to paint. The kit has a crap *** brush that literally falls apart as you are using it. The paint seemed fine but I was picking out brush fibers from the first stroke. They continued to fall out as I was using it a real pain in the a. Someone in that company made a poor decision on what brush to add to the kit. Even though you can buy a better brush for a few bucks, don't waste your time get something else. I did this as a trial on my Buick after I ground some material off the caliper bracket and wanted to seal it up nicely.
When it comes time to paint the Monte's calipers, I'll take the time like Matt did and take everything off nice. I'll be using the Duplicolor paint (because I have it) but buying a nicer brush to same time and frustration.
Question - - -
How long did you guys wait for the paint to dry? Did you mount your wheels on next day and drive? Kit says 5 full days to cure, so I don't know if that means don't drive it for 5 days, don't mount wheels, etc..

I think it was something like 2 hours that I waited for the paint to dry (it does dry to touch pretty quick), and yes you can mount the wheels and drive the car the next day.
My recommendation would be to completely disassemble the calipers. After you've cleaned & painted 'cook' them in an oven @ 200° for about 6 hours. Rebuild the calipers, install & enjoy.

I agree with taking the calipers off. Having the brake pads off will make it look 10x better when you are done, but if you have stock 00-03 SS rims you really won't be able to see ti all anyway.
And red bars? Yea, they look alright.
Mounted wheels back on after 2 days drying. I only did the fronts. This was by no means a detailed job but it looks alright gets the job done as they say. FYI these are my old Monte rims mounted on my 96 Regal I bought Buick centercaps for them too.
