I feel the same way, because at night time all you see is two little round dots, it's hardly distinguishable as a Monte Carlo, where the 7th generation tail lights at night are fully illuminated, top to bottom, instead of just the bottom circle in 6th generation.

If thats all you want is to have both top and bottom light up at the same time. Just do a little rewiring and you will be all set. Its not hard to do at all. You will need 2 light sockets for top lights though.

Thumbs up 7th gen lights on 6th gen car

I put 7th gen lights on my 01 SS. I'm just curious now as to how you get both lights to glow at night?? Is it an easy rewiring?? Any parts sources? Any info would be appreciated!

the uper lights on the brake lights are just parking lights they dont light up just the bottoms light up. i thought the uper part of the break light on the 6th gen lit up as a parking light as well as the bottoms when you turned on the head lights? but to me i like the tail lights off of the 6th gen a little better in looks then i do on a 7th gen tail lights. if you are going to get the 7th gen tail lights figure out how to hook up. the uper and the two side leds on the besile to only light up as a parking light option. there are two little lights on the side of the main brake light. that light up as a parking light and do not work as a main brake light when stoping or having the turn signal on.
