They fit, but I believe there is a tiny gap (most people would never notice).
I know this topic has been brought up many times, at some point someone showed pics of the differences.

Funny because I have 6th gen tail lights on a 7th gen. there is a gap but no one knows but me.

Yeah there is a tiny gap between the light and trunk but not noticeable unless you're up really close looking at it.
