Last I knew it had to be cut and resend. Idk does anyone make quarters for them? The body shop I was going to have my 2003 done at couldn't find replacement quarters.

At the rate these w-bodys rust in the rear quarters they should make quarters. Best bet is probably finding a solid, shell of a junked car and cutting out a donor piece or having a brand new piece of sheet steel fabricated to fit.

Look at Jerry's pictures at the bottom of page 1.

My '06 rust in front of right rear well only, from NW Ohio. The curbside salt n water would do it there. Shockingly pissed! With 110k on it, amazing some with half that have rust issues. Dealer said the inside panel fit is the defect.

For those who live in the more Northern Climates I suspect even those who do not drive their car in the winter may still get some signs of rust back there eventually.

More to do with the moisture in general and the design. Unless it's stored in a headed garage at all times and never touches any rain, it might just be okay.

I ended up getting mine fixed shortly after I bought the car. They cut out the sections of rust and replaced it with new sheet metal

I wanted to give this thread a bump.

I was on autotrader.ca and came across this 06 with rust on the wheel well.
2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for $3,200 in MISSISSAUGA | autoTRADER.ca

One thing I keep noticing is that the rust is always on the passenger side rear wheel well and not the driver side -- at least I have not seen it on the driver side yet. This one does not look like it was taken care of well but still.

Everyone I have talked to had it begin on the passenger side.

Weird how some rust and some don't. My 04 doesn't have rust anywhere and I drive it every winter and don't even wash that often lol. Just been kind of lucky I guess

The rust on that Monte is most likely due to a bad repair job. There is too much rust for that to be just from sitting...It was repainted at some point and was not prepped correctly.

Mine started and is worse on the driver side. Passenger side started a year later.
I haven't taken it to a body shop yet for estimate or repair, it's in storage, so I don't have to look at it regularly.

My 2007 has it on both sides at the same spot.

I'm reluctant to get it fixed because most shops have said it is very difficult to match Red Jewel Tintcoat 3-stage paint.
