Default 06/07 SS spoiler on 03 SS

I was reading an old post from chibiblack, in which you can take off the surfboard spoiler and the 06/07 SS spoiler will
fit directly. Anyone else do this? How should I remove the surfboard spoiler besides the nuts? Heatgun to weaken the adhesive? All help appreciated thank you

I did the same swap with my Monte (and it's probably the most common body mod). But I had a shop do the swap and paint work. If you do it yourself, a heat gun might help. I know from pulling spoilers in the junk yard, that adhesive can be some strong stuff. a putty knife can also be handy. And take your time.

Ok and when adding the new spoiler, should I use 3m tape on where I can see the old areas on the new spoiler where it looks like there was adhesive?

You might be looking at a respray of the trunk as the 06/07 spoiler doesn't reach as far, and you might have damage from the old adhesive.

Yes, I would get new crush washers, and 3M tape.
