Default you thoughts

hey i think i am going to sell my 2001 one monte ls to obtain a new ss with lower miles so i'm wondering how much i should sell it for. here are some specs: 198,xxx miles
power locks
power windows
power mirrors
origanal cd player
new tires
black with tan cloth
i know it has high miles but i am the second owner of the car and it runs and drives fine and everything works except the gas gauge(bad sensor) and it runs quite with no knocks or squeels. please give me you thoughts on how much i should sell it for or you would give for it becuase i think kbb is a joke... oh and i will put some pics up later tonight after i am done with school and plowing thanks for the help!

Honestly with the mileage and the lack of leather interior / it's only the 3.4 engine, you are probably looking at $2,500 - $3,000

Hi Member Monte`18,
I agree with Mod Mike on his estimate, because of the high miles,
but that does not mean that U can't get more $'s 4 your Monte.
Do you have service records from last owner ?
Condition of your Monte count's a lot to those that aren't afraid of
high miled Monte's...
It also helps to have a certified mechanic check out your
Monte with a inspection report on the condition of
your car b-4 U attempt 2 sell.
Great posted pic's helps sell a car 4-Sure : )
Condition of Body, suspension/brakes/tires/engine etc
are all factors that a future owner will consider.
Wish you good luck in whatever U decide, but a SS Monte
is a great dream....
Oh, U get more $'s selling privately, then trad'in it in : )
4-Sure

Good Luck!!

Honestly, I would say Mikes estimate is pretty close to right on. Even if your car runs prefect, the milage is going to make it hard to sell. I would even have a hard time selling my 06 because it has higher milage, especially for the year.

That's why you should just keep it as a beater / winter car

Default ....My thoughts...

......Should you decide to sell it. Clean it , clean it and clean it some more. Sounds like most of you live in the snow belt part of
the country. Might be a good idea to pressure wash underneath
and clean the motor really good. Change the oil even before selling.
Check other fluids. You can take a leaf blower and blow out all the
loose dirt and debris from the interior, then vacum.
Should you keep it which might be best......yeah....a winter beater
is a good idea. Preserve the SS when you get it.
That's my 2 cents from a southern view.

In a private sale, i think that's steep for the year, model and mileage.
Yes, clean it very well, and put it up on craiglist and see what offers they shoot.
Its best to keep it since what you get probably won't be enough to pay for a newer SS alltogether, so just keep it i say.

Just as a reference I have tried to sell my 2004 off and on without success. It is an ss, with every option but a supercharger. 100,000 miles. I had it listed for 6500.00 and never even got a call.

I would guess that mike is right and that you would expect to get around 2500.00. Good luck selling it and let us know how you do. Put number you can live with on it and see if you get any takers.

thanks for the ideas becuase honestly i only paid 5 hundred for it with 180,xxx miles on it becuase of connection and i would be more than happy to get even 2,000 for it. also new trans and all new brakes and front sus. done by me and my uncle(he is a mechanic) and it stays in a garage most of the time and it rarely sits in the snow.
