You Missed It, So i Come With Pics.
Okay King Popcorn, I see your challenge to a 2000 mile trip to Las Vegas, and raise you a 2000 mile trip to Henderson, NC for the Show, Shine, ****, and Dine next October!!! (pictures from this year can be found here: https://montecarloforum.com/forum/sh...hine+****+dine)
I know what you mean by all the Mustang people. I like Mustangs, but the reason I really wanted a Torino vs. a Mustang is that a Mustang isn't really that special. Everyone has restored one, and everyone has seen one. Unless you have something special about it, a lot of people don't really look twice at them.
Why do I drive a Monte Carlo? Well, the same reason. Any old boy can drive a Mustang. It takes a man to drive a Monte Carlo

And now for the reason i made this post.
I'm not telling anyone to make a 2000 mile trip ( though i have done it back in my Mini-truckin days ), but to go out and have fun at a car show. And if someone asks you about your car, TALK TO THEM. For all you know, you might be making a new friend for life. Many times i have tried to talk to Monte owners and they wont give me the time of day for what ever reason they have.
What i'm saying is GO OUT AND HAVE FUN at a cars show.
Dwayne, i saw the pics of that show you posted about. Looks really kewl. Is there a cut off year? If so, what is the oldest allowed? I might have to get me a 65 Rambler American for that show. And yes, i would drive there and not be afraid to put mileage on a car. I drove an AMC Hornet SportAbout cross country from Jersey to SoCal in 3 days.
For you kids in the crowd, this is what a 65 Rambler American looks like.

no cut off either direction as far as I know. I've seen Model T's and a few new Mustangs. I've seen cars that were stripped down to absolutely nothing out there so people could see what the guts of a car looked like.
I've thought of driving the Torino across Route 66 once I've got a teaching job and can pay my way across there. My dad drives a truck, so I know how to get places in a hurry too!
