this is our severe wheather policy, PTO = paid time off which we accumalate monthly..
To All:
I have received numerous emails and phone calls in regards to the predicted weather conditions for both Tuesday and Wednesday. Please be advised that the offices will be open unless the Executive Team decides otherwise. As recommended, per our policy, all employees are to use their own judgment as to whether or not they can make it into work safely. If the employees cannot make it into work safely and can work from home, they may do so with their managers’ approval. Otherwise, employees will be required to use a PTO day.
The Emergency Line number is X- XXX-XXX-XXXX and will be updated as deemed necessary.
For your convenience, you may click on the link below and it will take you to our current Severe Weather Policy.
I'm still trying to figure the phone # out.......
on that note, I might have a 2 hour delay tomorrow...

Well with me it's simple. If I go to work, I still have a job. If I don't, I'm unemployed. The harsh reality is, there are no other jobs around here to go to. And there's plenty of people who would do anything to have my job. So I don't have a choice really. Unless I want to end up homeless on the streets, I have to go to work.
That's reality around my area.

I haven't been outside yet today but it looks like there's a few inches here in Lima, OH. School was cancelled and the grocery stores were packed last night. So, I think today would be a good day to stay inside and enjoy the tv and interwebs.

It snowed a little here so far but the bad stuff isn't supposed to hit until this afternoon. I will be staying at my Dad's house who only lives 6 miles west of where I work. He also made an arrangement with his neighbor (he lives in a townhouse 4 units attached) to make space in his garage so I can park my 05 inside. It is also my last day of work so I kinda have to be there. I start my new job closer to my house on Thursday and we should be OK by then.

I guess its different out west. I am always out no matter how bad the weather is. I would probably stay home for lots of freezing rain, maybe. We use cinder rocks for traction here instead of Salt. Cars will get the front end paint chipped, but it is better then rust. For some time now they have also been using a deicer, that I don't think helps the paint at all. Not as bad as salt, but I don't like driving on it as it coats the car in magnesium chloride.

It's snowing here and starting to stick. The really bad stuff is supposed to come in the overnight. Can't wait I dont have anywhere to shovel it to the piles are already mountainous from the last storms.
