Who's owned a manual? Would you recommend it?

Manual is great. I've DD my Honda for what, 4-5 years now and I love it. Granted in high traffic, stop and go it gets to be a PITA sometimes, but there's something about a manual... Every time I drive another car my arm finds its way to the shifter even if it's an automatic.

A few cars ago I had a 1998 Dodge Neon R/T.
It was a manual with a short-throw shifter. Really a blast to drive. Something about a manual makes you feel more in control of the car. As other members have stated though, if you drive in the city with a lot of stop-and-go, it's not ideal. Constantly clutching gets really old! Despite that, I would recommend everyone owns a manual at least once in their lifetime!

My dad has always told me that sticks are a ton of fun an there is really nothing bad about driving one other then first starting out. He has said that they get old pretty quick when it's a daily driver especially when you are in traffic. However I have hear a ton of people say that they never get old an that it's just a lot more fun to drive. My next car will be a stick. I'm thinking of going with a 2005-2006 Pontiac GTO or a 2010-2012 challenger if they drop in price. The 2005-2006 GTO comes standard with the 6.0L and you can get it with a 6 speed. And if I get the Challenger, it will have to be the 392 hemi with the 6 speed haha.
