When It Rains, It, um.... Stops Working?
Anyone know of (or NOT know of) my recent transmission problems and the crap the trans shop tried on me?
Last saturday the hot water tank decided to stop working. A call to their 1-800 tech line got me in touch with a guy from India who could barely speak english. We didn't quite see eye to eye. But he sent out a new manifold assembly for me to install. Sure hope THAT was the problem. Got the manifold on wednesday, wednesday evening still hotwater. A call back on thurday got me in touch with Zerena. She was a great help. Evenoffered to help me get a new water heater for free under warranty. Thenk you Zerena.
Had to stay at work this morning till 1:40pm. Got home. BOY...... is it cold in here. OH that's cause the furnace isn't working. What the h--l could it be now? Turn up the T-stat and still no activity out of the furnace. GREAT!
I go downstairs, pull the furance apart. The last time it stopped working it was the ignitor. Guy who installed the new one (for $105) said I could buy one at any hardware store. Drive to Home De-pot walk around for 10 minutes or so. I need help here. Go to the service desk and woman there is waiting on a guy who can't understand his return receipt. Second HP employee is too busy jawing with his friend and 3rd employee just got a call on his cell. (AGH!)
Just so happens a neighbor works there and walked past me. He offers to help. (I should mention I've now been in this store over 25 minutes) He gives me the number for the local Ace Hardware so I call them. "Yes we carry furnace ignitors." the lady tells me. So............ I driveacross town (with time running out) walk in look for assistance, guy tells me "No, we don't sell those." (AGH!!!!!)
Walking back out my car, I snap the old ignitor in pieces by accident. Now I really do have to buy one whether this was the problem or not.
I call my g/f, tell her to start calling people who work on furnaces and get one to agree to come to the house cause we sure can't go without heat tonight. Not withthe ouside temps predicted at zero. But wedo locate one guy who agrees to come over right now. He did eventually get the furnace working for us. And a call past 5pm they consider an emergency call and the price goes to $125 instead of the $49 we did pay.
Butwhen thebad luck runs, it runs fast and hard.If you know what I mean.

Yikes, RJ ... sure seems like you've had a run of bad luck recently. Hope that turns around for ya ... sooner, rather than later.

One would think I'd done something like break a mirror or a black cat walked across my path recently.
I sure hope next weekend isn't as "Exciting" as the last two have been.
At least we had heat last night.

RJ, the BeachRiverBum's & I wish you good luck
Here's a four leaf clover...
I think bad things happen in life, so we can really appreciate
the good times more when they come along.
The bad things are just a reminder...
Wish you more good times.
