Wow , I gotta think on this one. The first thing that comes to mind (outside of crazy Army stuff) is riding in the back of Bruce's F150 while he was on a crazy tear thru the back roads, I am talking sideways and tires smoking at ridiculous speeds and we all somehow hanging on in the bed of the truck. It was wild!

I think surfing/boogie boarding at Kure Beach, NC just days before hurricane Hugo hit in 1989 is probably the craziest thing I have ever done. But everyone's perception of crazy is different. It was a BLAST ...but looking back, wow that could have not turned out so well very quickly.

I was to young to surf that one, but I've have surfed many dangerous Hurricane waves growing up by the ocean.

They are large, but really not the best to surf, but still fun to try to challenge one's ability or stupidity (lol)
The hardest part is getting out there to catch a wave & then you get beat `up by the power & force of Mother Nature 4-Sure...

The waves were HUGE but too much at one time and did not make for the best surfing!!! Ability was for sure challenged and stupidity was most definitely present!!! LOL

 

You surfers are crazy!! I did pier fish the day of hurricane evacuation at Rodanthe, NC in the late 90's. Don't remember 'cane name, been so many. The surf was crazy and smashing into and over the pier. It rocked and groaned and we kept fishing. I don't know why they didn't run us off! Somehow we caught fish, even hooked a few unstoppables!

I still would not dare surf or boogie board it. Yall are nuts!

 

Had my shipmates tie a rope around my waist and took pictures out on the weather deck of our ship during a gale in the Bermuda triangle when the weather-decks where off limits to all personnel.

I got caught by the master of Arms but fortunately I handled his pay record. LOL
