I expect my garage will look a lot like it does today. I'll have my standard 'green vehicle,' a motorcycle of some kind that I'll use 80% of the time - 50mpg and infinitely more fun than a Prius or Volt! And also some old car, probably not very 'green.' My current old car has a V-12. By 2016 I imagine my son will have inherited our Monte. Currently the Monte is my wife's daily driver. But she's campaigning for something new. So my son will probably luck out and get the Monte.

In 2016 I hope to still be driving my Jimmy ( if i can still find parts for it ) and Jonny will be 18. When he leaves the nest he will have a POS car for his first car. Aint no way in hell i am about to give he an expensive car. Lets put it this way. Do you remember what you did at that age? Did you have a car at that age? How much damage did you do to it? And how many friends did you carry around with you. All us gear heads can not say that they babied their cars. I know i didnt. First chance i had, i stroked the engine in my Apache and starting eating RICE all day long.

I with Zipper. Electric cars and BioDiesel are still in their infancy. They are going to get better. If the time ever comes that fossil is no more, i will convert the Jimmy to Bio and keep on driving down the highway smelling like Burger King french fries.

Honestly the whole global warming can be debated for years, there is more of a public outcry saying it's happening with proof in that direction, however there is just as much opposition also with credible evidence showing yes there is climate change, cold and warm throughout the years but that side does not seem to get as much exposure, perhaps cause people in general tend to listen to doom and gloom more.

But that's neither here, nor there it is in everyones best interest to produce electric cars for the environment and to become less oil dependant...I agree that our electric grid should be upgraded for everything, and solar panels are great but I think people are reluctant to go to them, just as they are to go to electric cars.

I also feel that GM was ahead of it's time with the ev and even the Grand National V6 turbo putting out V8 Horsepower in 1987...I think if they continued to persue both these technologies they would be so far ahead of everyone else now, instead they decided to cancel both initiatives, angering both muscle car guys and enviromentalists alike...Hopefully they learn from there mistakes and mend the wounds left behind from this.

It's funny, if you woulda told me in 2001/2002/2003 that the end of the muscle car era was near I woulda believed it, we really only had 1 v8 muscle car, the Mustang...there was the Maruader but that really was a heavy piece...

Today all the focus is on the Volt, Leaf and Prius's that no one is focusing on the muscle cars and v8's but just take a look the HP wars are more popular then ever:

Dodge/Chrysler: Chellenger,Charger, 300C, Grand Cherokee, Viper

Ford: Mustang (More HP Then ever in GT, let alone Boss, shelby editions), SHO (v6 turbo), Falcon (Albeit in Aussie)

GM: Camaro ss, The entire Cadillac V-series, Numerious Verisons of the Vette, Previous Trailblazer SS, The Return of the G8, and all of The holden's in Australia.

Couple this with the HP wars of the Challenger SRT8 392 (470 Hp), The Cobra, and the soon to be Z28...

I think there is plunty of room for the Volt's, Leaf's an Prius's for enviromentalists and Chellengers, Mustangs and Camaros for Muscle cars alike for many years to come.

For me, in 2016 I will be driving My Monte Carlo, My GTO, and Hopefully a Maloo or some Holden Based Zeta car.

Joe
