I like the alarm Idea Enzo suggested.

I don't know it just still supprises me how some people can be so ingnorant as to sit or lean up against a show car and not expect the owner to get unglued.
If I was their I would of had ur back bro !

I think you handled things fine, but I woulda left the "sue you" part out. I could care less if someone thinks I'm over-reacting for telling them off while defending my car. He was definately an ignorant a-hole, but that's not something that should result in violence either.

I like the alarm idea - it's too bad when people disrespect other peoples property.

people have no respect at all and it does not matter what the car is. We had a brand new Rolls Royce in front of the night club I work at and someone was leaning against it.

I was at a sports bar with some co-workers one evening and we were sitting outside. Someone did the same thing to my car - I have a temper and a short fuse. I walked over to him and asked him to please stop leaning on my car (he had a few, you could tell) he told me to go "f" myself, and he wound up with my beer over his head.

Tad, I would've done the same as you. Beside the suing part. If I was there, I would've backed you up too. I hate it when a-holes disrespect your stuff like that. Then have the nerve to get pi$$ed off at you, as if you're the one doing something wrong.

I will say this though. It would've taken a lot of self-control to keep from doing something drastic. I'm 6 foot, 230 pounds, and have a quick temper when it comes to a-holes like that.

Been in the situation before. I hit the panic button and set the alarm off. He moved away and problem was solved. If I had to I would then go up to him and motivate him to not lean on my car.

Point out your bumper sticker that reads, "I know where Hoffa is buried. I brought the shovel."

You did the right thing by restraining yourself and not getting into an altercation with the jerk. People like that aren't worth the powder to blow them to hell, but Karma is a real mother... They sit on my list right next to those that pull up next to you in a parking lot then let their door swing open and hit the side of your car.
