we also used to have an 84 sazuki samuri, 4cyl with the 5 speed, manuel lock hubs & compleatly stock, that thing was fun, i used it in our development like it was an ATV, lol. there's a 4 mile long quad sized trail that runs from near my house & goes down off the mountian to the deli, or it branches off to the bar, & some other places... anyways, my friends used to walk it to get sandwiches, lol, till i got the sazuki. i think the best part was seeing the faces of anyone on a quad who saw us back there in that lil truck, it was only a lil bigger than a large quad & had a short wheelbase, i NEVER got stuck in it

Talking about Geo Metros, we had a '91 3 cyl. Wish we still had it, it was a GREAT little car, had a 106,XXX when we traded it for the POS '99 Ford F250 diesel. They only thing ever broke on the Metro was the blower motor - mouse got it in and made a nest at the deer lease - mouse got ground up. And the 46-47 mpg average was really nice. Got 58 mpg once with a tail wind, no a/c, and shifting when it (the little dummy shift light)recommended.

Not enough coffee this morning - I typed a response then didn't post it - IDIOT.
Short version:
We had a '91 3cyl Geo Metro, was one of the best cars we ever owned. 46-47 mpg average, many times better, even got 58 once. Traded it for the POS '99 Ford F250 diesel that at 90,000 started dieing for no known reason, traded it for the Dodge 2500 diesel, has 140,xxx+ now (but shhhhhhh I hear they have tranny problems at 150K - hoping we have the excetion instead of the "rule").
Love my Monte though and wouldn't trade it for anything

This thread is cracking me up!

Well, it's not totally the car's fault, but I just remember it needing something ALL THE TIME - I had an 87 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z - I LOVED that car! It was cute & zippy (hey 4 cyl. turbo!) but it always had the strangest things go wrong with it - it's not the door locks it's the clippy part they don't make anymore that holds the door locks in position kind of thing. I think that Shelby was possessed or had a death wish or something - it just seemed to attract problems. It was also a very poor choice for an only car, Kansas winters earned it the nick name ditch digger.

The car & I hit 4 deer during our time together. The 12 point buck busted out the windshield, I'm lucky he didn't end up in my lap.

Kelly had a patent on the tire size for the first couple years I owned it, no weather traction at all. I skidded off in the ditch over a dozen times, ripped out the exhaust twice, and popped tires off the rims on 8 occasions.

I came out to go to work one morning and the car was gone; it had rolled down our very long driveway, ramped off the end of a 2' drop and continued rolling until it hit the biggest tree in the yard. We put a parking curb in the middle of the driveway until I traded it in with over 300,000 miles on the 94 Lumina Z34.

2 Years after I traded the Shelby I get a call from a Sheriff in Cali, it was involved in a crime of some kind and they had found something with my info on it in the car. I keep expecting her to show back up in my driveway like my own Christine...

Last car before I left for the land of rice was a 1980 chevy monza spyder (freakin rocket) with a 305cid rwd...... the car was fantastic to dri/////fly around in but heres the worst part of it....dismanteling the front end for simple oil and spark plug changes / getting anywere in the chicago winter of 1980 was a task in it's self; but now put youself in a RWD go-cart with a V8 and lower body kit...Better off walking!!!!
