I used to be a member at several RC forums when I was younger. I was very into RC cars and planes. I racked up thousands of posts at various forums because I loved sharing what I was doing as well as seeing what everyone else was doing. I learned absolutely everything I knew about RC from online forums. The source of knowledge on them is amazing. I could spend hours and hours just lurking around.

When I bought my first car, my 1999 MC, I knew I had to find a forum for it so I could do the same as my RC adventures. I found MCF and joined right away. At first, there wasn't a whole lot of discussion about 5th gen Montes going on, as it was dominated mostly by 6th gens. I still enjoyed the atmosphere and kept coming back. Once the mod bug started to hit, I started to lose interest in my RC stuff and gain interest in my car. I started to post more here and read more. I have learned a ton of info from this forum and the people are just awesome I enjoy seeing other people's ideas, cars, and conversations as well as share my own projects and thoughts.

This forum is half of my hobby. Working on my car in my free time is just part of it. The whole experience wouldn't be the same without this forum. I might not be the biggest poster, but MCF is my number one visited page. I'm on it constantly looking at the "new posts" tab. It's just fun!

I find myself coming to the forum as it's like part of an extended family. Always fun to see what your brother and sisters are up to. And it's a place where we can share our individual Monte's uniqueness and learn 'How did he do that?" This is a place on the net where one can interact with others out there on this big blue marble.

Here are lyrics from an old song from me to you all:

Consider yourself at home
Consider yourself one of the family
We've taken to you so strong
It's clear we're going to get along

Consider yourself well in
Consider yourself part of the furniture
There isn't a lot to spare
Who cares, whatever we've got we share?

I joined the forum because when I needed help with my car, I came here from google. And after I noticed how helpful and friendly everyone here is, I joined up. Now MCF is my most visited site and I always have a tab open waiting for a new post I can read!

I was suggested by a friend when I first bought my monte I should try and find a forum to help me learn more about my own car, and modifications. And what do you know, MCF popped up! I've stayed here mainly because of the atmosphere. There really is no spam, and everyone doesn't judge you by your car. Probably the friendliest forum I've EVER been on. Also there is always new things to see & isn't slow like others.. I remember joining 2-3 other forums at the time & the only other one I've kept with besides MCF is w-body.com. I only go on there to keep up on my build page.. aside from that, mcf is my daily getaway!

I'm just here for the free beer....

Nah, I joined up when I was in high school 6 years ago. I had gotten the car a couple months earlier and just wanted to see what other people were doing theirs as far as exhaust, CAI, and the other such stuff is concerned.

I stuck around when I got my Torino and this forum was actually more responsive and interested in the restoration than the Torino and Ford forums were. I always wondered about that a little bit...

Now I'm the commissioner of our MCF NASCAR Fantasy League and most of my post these days are towards the bottom of the forum there.

At first take, I think "you know, that's a funny statement since everyone who joined here either owns, owned or plans to own a Monte Carlo (but the greater majority of active members are owners). Then I read this:

And I think it REALLY think both those statements together really pull something interesting.

We've seen Monte owners leave the Monte for Mustangs, Grand Prixs, F-bodies, you name it. We've ALSO seen Monte owners keep the Monte and share things about a none-Monte they now own.

And to be honest, beyond a common enjoyment for the Monte, that's a great point. This group simple LIKES cars regardless of make/model
