Any VIN that starts with a "1" was built in the USA, 2 is Canada, 3 is Mexico, other numbers mean they were built over seas. So all 6th Gen Monte Carlo VINs will start with a "2"

I know, more freak'in auto homework...Also you can go to a dealer & some that are nice will run one for you (in hopes you return someday & purchase a car from them)...It's worth a try `if all else fails..
