Very cool looking brake light!

i used to have one i made for my 5th gen, it fit between the 3rd brakelight and the window. nothing too fancy just a bowtie emblem. it kinda fell apart after 5 years of baking in the sun, lol.

when i made it i printed out a bowtie emblem in the size i wanted to use for a template, cut it out and traced it on some cardboard... then cut the cardboard with a boxcutter and used masking tape around the edges to clean them up a bit... then rattlecanned the whole thing black.
if i made another i would probibly choose a better material, not really sure what because it needs to be fairly flexable to fit against the glass good, and it can't be too thin or it would slide out... i would also use a dremal tool to get a cleaner cut.
but it held up for quite a few years before it started to look shabby, and it took mabe 20 minutes to make so who am i to complain?

thanks man
originally that's what i wanted to do after seeing the 6th gen brake light overlays, but the 5th gen's actual brakelight lens is fairly involved to get to it, requires some fairly major dissasembly to remove it just for a decal. mine just slid in, and when it started to get crapy it just slid back out.

i'm feeling kinda inspired now, might use the old one as a template tomorrow night and attempt to make a better one than the original. if i can come up with something decent are there any other 5th gen owners interested in one? because if what i'm planning works it shouldin't be hard to duplicate
