Thanks guys.
My dog Daisy, a boxer, is dying now. Had her at the vet today. She's been losing weight for weeks. Cancer... The breed is known for that, and I know it, its just a bad time right now with my wife having leukemia. I've known this was coming since a couple weeks before my wife was diagnosed with leukemia, but after today's vet visit its official. She still eats well, keeps the food down, etc. and is still happy and loving, but her energy level is down, tumors in her neck, swollen lymph nodes and the continued weight loss... I could have probably had her put down today, but as long as she is still fighting like this and not obviously suffering, we're gonna continue. They gave me prednisone, a steroid, for her to take. It won't cure her of course, but may alleviate the symptoms a little while. I don't expect more than a couple weeks. I'd like Melissa (my wife) to see her one more time before Daisy leaves us.

Wow, 19 is a ripe old age for a dog. Mine is 7-8 years old, estimated. We rescued her from a humane society shelter, and they couldn't be sure of her exact age, obviously. She's an awesome dog, was and still is great with my daughters.

So sorry to hear about your dog. After my last dog had to be put down it took me 10 years to get another one. He was a great dog and I still feel guilty I left him with my parents and went off to school and life. My new dog I got 3 years ago and he is great. Find comfort in all of the great years and the great life you provided for her and enjoy the time you have. Prayers for your family tonight.

Rich, sorry to hear about your wife and dog.

David, you should have taken the waterpump manifold/ alternator bracket off. It would have made the coolant elbows so much easier.

Thanks guys.
I tell you what Todd, I'm definitely going to take a break from dog ownership also. Maybe not 10 years, but definitely a while. We're going to be too busy dealing with my wife's leukemia, which will likely require some ongoing treatment even after she is "cured" and home from the hospital.
