Morning guys.
Currently feels like -35 °F here and was -43 °F last night. Low record temperatures being smashed all over the mitten; both Detroit and Flint recorded -14 °F, breaking old records of -5 °F (1942) & -10 °F (1986), respectively. Tri-Cities hit -11 °F breaking old record of -9 °F (1912).
Also, the award for most snow from the January 5th storm goes to Owosso, Michigan in Shiawassee County which reported 18.7". We got 10.4" in Ann Arbor.
Pretty cool satellite image of Michigan taken yesterday.

Good morning everyone, still sick, but decided to stay and work from home today.
Last night my power went out for 2 hours too. I didn't realize just how fast my apartment without heat could become really cold

Well, unexpected "work from home day". Every couple of years the regulator to my natural gas will "freeze" (last time a guy from the gas company was here about one of their upgrades, I asked him to inspect it and he said it's fine). Today, pilot lights on the stove were out, furnace unable to run.... I grabbed a heat gun and got the regulator thawed enough to get the furnace to go and I can run a burner or two on the stove.....
I called the gas company to have someone dispatched and I am now working from home.... It's good and bad.
Around lunch time I have to go to my sister's place. Her car won't start.

Morning all! Sorry to hear about the freezing over there guys. Stay safe and warm. I like how on that map the cascade mountains form a barrier where everything west of it is warmer than everything east.
Just gotta eat and run today, if I'm not early to work I feel late...

Good Morning Everyone....is it Friday yet. It's a bit tough getting used to waking up at 4am again after not doing it for so long with the holidays. LOL

Can't believe how stinking cold it is for some of you. Stay warm!
